Bolesławiec criminal officers, patrolling the city on New Year’s Eve, noticed a vehicle lying on its side at around 4:00 a.m. on Modłowa Street. Command:

There was a visible fire under the hood. The passenger got out of the vehicle under her own power, while the driver was unable to leave the car by himself.

The police officers immediately took action. Using a knife, they freed the man from his seat belt. Then one of the intervening criminal officers helped the 20-year-old safely leave the vehicle, while the other used a fire extinguisher to control the fire that had begun spreading under the hood.

The participants in the incident, who were cold, were taken into the police car. Through the duty officer, the remaining emergency services were called to the scene.

Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident. The officers:

Nevertheless, we appeal to all road users to adjust their speed to the prevailing road conditions. Let us remember that the danger is particularly great at night—even if the road appears dry and “black,” it may be very slippery. Falling temperatures encourage the formation of invisible black ice, which significantly increases braking distance. Caution and responsibility behind the wheel can prevent tragedy.
