A prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, together with officers of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra, inspected the crime scene. Traces and evidence were secured. A knife that was most likely used to inflict the victim’s injuries was also secured.
A minor who may be connected with the incident was identified. She is a 12-year-old girl and a student at the same school attended by the victim.
The District Court’s Family and Juvenile Division, which will continue conducting the proceedings due to the alleged perpetrator’s age, has already granted permission for her detention.
Today, the materials from the procedural activities carried out will be placed at the Court’s disposal, and it will decide the detainee’s further fate.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the two girls knew each other by sight but were not friends. Injuries inflicted with a sharp instrument were visible on the 11-year-old’s body. An autopsy of the 11-year-old will be conducted today at the Department of Forensic Medicine in Wrocław.
In a conversation with the Polish Press Agency, Agnieszka Makowska, vice-president of the District Court in Jelenia Góra, said that the family court had agreed to the police questioning the 12-year-old girl.
At the same time, she noted that, apart from the request for questioning, no materials or case files had yet been submitted to the court by either the prosecutor’s office or the police. She stressed that the court can initiate any proceedings only after receiving the relevant documentation.

On Tuesday, December 16, in the afternoon, the 12-year-old was questioned by the police. The case files will now be sent to the family court. As the Fakt website established, citing Agnieszka Makowska, vice-president of the District Court in Jelenia Góra, and judge:
In the case of a child who is at least 10 but not yet 13 years old, proceedings concerning demoralization are conducted. The court may apply educational or temporary measures, including placement in a medical facility or a youth educational center. The opinion of psychiatric experts will be very important.
The proceedings are still ongoing. Further people are being questioned. Psychologists are working at the school attended by both girls. The day on which the 11-year-old’s funeral is held will be declared a day of mourning in Jelenia Góra.

Police case files concerning the detained 12-year-old were submitted to the District Court in Jelenia Góra. “Today, a hearing was held with the participation of the minor, during which the court applied a temporary measure to her,” Judge Agnieszka Makowska said during a press conference.
However, she did not specify what kind of measure it was and did not answer journalists’ questions. She also stressed that the proceedings are being conducted behind closed doors and appealed for seriousness and calm in connection with the situation and the tragedy that had occurred.
