The incident occurred on Saturday at around 5:00 p.m. Firefighters from OSP Wierzbowa and OSP Gromadka were called to a road incident in Wierzbowa. The report concerned a person being struck.
After arriving at the scene, it turned out that an elderly woman, a resident of Wierzbowa, had been struck. Unfortunately, despite the emergency services’ immediate response, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating the case. The Bolesławiec police headquarters stated:
Preliminary findings indicate that the 84-year-old pedestrian stepped directly in front of the vehicle.
