If the councillors support the draft resolutions, Bolesławiec County will become the main organiser of public passenger transport in a significant part of the region. This is an unprecedented move – never before has our county had such a major influence on inter-county transport.

What are the plans?

During Wednesday’s session, councillors will consider key resolutions concerning:

  • taking over from Lwówek County the task of organising public collective transport,
  • taking over from Złotoryja County the same scope of responsibilities,
  • and amending the existing resolution concerning the agreement for the provision of transport services – which could pave the way for an entirely new transport system.

This means that Bolesławiec County could become the central operator and coordinator of the connections network, covering several counties. For residents, this could mean better-coordinated timetables, more services and potentially entirely new connections.

Why is this so important?

This decision could completely change the balance of power in local transport. If transport in three counties is managed from one place – Bolesławiec – a unified system will emerge, something the region has not had until now.

The County Council session will begin on 4 December at 2:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Bolesławiec county office. Emotions are guaranteed – the future of the daily commutes of thousands of residents is at stake.
