Bolesławiec traffic police detained a 56-year-old truck driver who was driving a vehicle combination with more than 1.7‰ of alcohol in his system. Police:

The incident took place at a service area on the A4 motorway, where the man, after pulling into the parking area, hit a nearby vehicle with the cab door while getting out. His behaviour attracted the attention of another driver.

When the witness realised that the 56-year-old’s behaviour could be caused by intoxication, he immediately notified the emergency services.

The result? Officers:

The police officers who arrived at the scene confirmed his suspicions—the driver, a resident of Greater Poland Voivodeship, was returning from Spain with a load while intoxicated. Officers found empty alcohol bottles in the truck cab.

The professional driver lost his licence and will now answer before the court for driving while intoxicated. He faces up to three years in prison.
