The Bolesławiec City Hall has received official confirmation of funding for the reconstruction of the pedestrian and cycling bridge over the Bóbr. The Minister of Finance and Economy granted PLN 8,992,224 for this purpose from the state budget reserve intended to remove the effects of natural disasters. This decision paves the way for restoring an important crossing for residents.

The footbridge was destroyed during the flood and had to be dismantled, which meant that many residents of Bolesławiec lost a convenient connection to the recreational areas.

“This is very good news for our city. Thanks to these funds, we can begin preparations to rebuild the bridge, which will once again make life easier for residents,” emphasizes Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman. In connection with the funding obtained, the mayor abandoned plans to build a temporary footbridge near Gdańska Street, considering it appropriate to focus on a permanent crossing.

The new bridge is to be safe, functional and aesthetically integrated into its surroundings. Its reconstruction is another stage in restoring the city's infrastructure after the destruction caused by the natural disaster.

The bridge connecting Gdańska Street and Spacerowa Street is to be built by 2027.
