This year’s November 11 celebrations in Bolesławiec began at 11:00 a.m. with a Holy Mass for the Homeland at the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica at 3 Kościelna Street. Then, at 12:00 p.m., a Roll Call of Remembrance for Independence Day was held at the Monument to the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence on Bankowa Street, attended by representatives of the authorities, uniformed services and county residents.

Video report from the event:

After the roll call, participants could watch the march of the Honor Company of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and the procession of the mounted patrol of the Reconstruction Group of the 6th Kaniowski Lancers Regiment, which would travel through the town’s streets in a colourful historical parade.

The next item on the programme, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., will be a Military Picnic in the car park of the County Office at 12 Armii Krajowej Street. It will feature a performance by a reconstruction group, horseback rides for children, a display of US Army equipment and equipment from the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Commando Special Company. Traditional military pea soup will also be served, as it attracts considerable interest from participants every year.

The celebrations will conclude with an Independence Concert performed by the workshops of the Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Old Theatre. Admission to the concert is free.

The organisers invite all county residents to take part in events that combine reflection on history with the joy of celebrating together.
