Wiesław Surówka is a knight by passion, but also an excellent horse breeder. The Silesian horses bred by Mr. Wiesław are for sale. Beautiful, friendly, well cared for and exceptional. Raised with love and respect.

– I have pregnant mares for sale – explains Wiesław Surówka. – There have simply become too many of them, and I would like to share the results of my work. If anyone is interested, with the appropriate respect for these horses, please get in touch. I only have Silesian horses, with full pedigrees. It seems that only one does not have a complete pedigree, because my breeding began with a mare that had no papers, although she was a “pure-bred Silesian.” I know that deciding to buy a pregnant mare is more difficult. This is an offer for someone who already knows a little about horses. Because when the foals are born next March or April, you have to rearrange your life and adopt a different routine – the horse breeder adds.

An excellent breeder. A horse whisperer

Wiesław Surówka has an excellent reputation as a breeder.

– Wiesław from Grodziec is a man with great experience working with very difficult horses – says his acquaintance Remigiusz Jędrej. – Wiesław draws his knowledge of animals from many years of working with difficult horses, and horse breeding has continued in his family for generations. There is no horse he could not handle. There are fewer and fewer people with such extensive experience. People who love what they do and do not measure everything in terms of profit. I recommend the beautiful countryside around Grodziec Castle, whether on horseback or by horse-drawn carriage, because everyone will find something for themselves at Wiesław’s – his friend adds.

Horses, Wiesław Surówka confirms, have always been part of his farm. In his youth, they worked hard alongside people.

– My task on Sundays was simply to lead the horse out to pasture, so before I did that, I would also take a bareback ride around the area – Wiesław recalls his childhood. – The neighbors would then complain to my father that instead of resting on Sunday, the horse had certainly been ridden again – he adds.

Wiesław bought his first mare with money borrowed from his brother. He was so afraid to admit that he had become a horse owner that he kept her at a neighbor’s for six months so he would not be scolded at home.

– Later, when I began riding my mare, I met a well-known horse breeder, Mr. Jan Barski from Zbylutów – Wiesław recounts. – I started visiting him with the mare because he had a stallion from Książ. After a few visits, he told me to prepare the stallion for the training competitions in Książ. I did not know how to do it and was afraid I would not manage, but Mr. Jan said: “I can see that you have a way with horses.” That is how I began working with him, and for several years I prepared stallions for shows, after which they received breeding licenses. And that is how it all began – the breeder says.

Black Wiesław from Grodziec

Black Wiesław from Grodziec, the name he adopted in the Knights’ Brotherhood he founded, has a full suit of armor, a 13-kilogram chainmail shirt and two swords, which he wields nimbly during performances and historical picnics. He is also an amateur historian and a great admirer of the palace and castle in Grodziec. He knows both complexes like the back of his hand. He grew up in the shadow of Grodziec Castle, which dominates the surrounding area from a high hill. He worked there, and in the palace stables he organized discos for one hundred people in the 1980s.
