On 16 October 2025, an exceptional ceremony was held at the “Muza” Culture and Arts Centre in Nowogrodziec—the presentation of the Mayor of Nowogrodziec’s Scholarships for the 2024/2025 school year and the municipal observance of National Education Day.

The meeting, attended by numerous guests, students, teachers and heads of educational institutions, was hosted by Krzysztof Pysz, director of the School Services Centre in Nowogrodziec.

Joanny Świder extended her warm congratulations to all the honored students, teachers and principals, thanking them for their passion, commitment and daily efforts to build the municipality’s educational future.

Mayor of Nowogrodziec’s Scholarships

During the ceremony, academic scholarships were presented to primary school students who achieved high academic results during the past school year and distinguished themselves through activity in school and community life.

Recipients of the Mayor of Nowogrodziec’s scholarships for 2024/2025:

  • Primary School in Czerna – Antonina Szkrabko, Aleksandra Mierzwa, Zuzanna Kaczor, Zofia Szewc;
  • Primary School in Gierałtów – Zuzanna Gruda;
  • Primary School in Nowogrodziec – Marlena Orawiec, Hanna Kot, Michał Bober;
  • Primary School in Wykroty – Martyna Filistyńska, Paulina Nitarska, Lenka Rosińska, Mateusz Rudko.

Mayor’s Awards on National Education Day

On the occasion of National Education Day, the Mayor of Nowogrodziec also honored teachers for outstanding educational, pastoral and organizational achievements.

Among those honored were, among others: Małgorzata Chlastawa, Krystyna Członka, Joanna Filistyńska, Izabela Gumiela-Konarska, Magdalena Kalisz, Agata Lipska-Rupacz, Dariusz Marek, Marta Marmula, Justyna Mazur, Izabela Pawłowska, Barbara Różnicka-Kurek, Monika Rutyna, Justyna Topa and Beata Urbaniak.

Recognition for Principals

Special distinctions were also awarded to the heads of educational units: Piotr Fedorowicz, Izabela Żukowska-Maziarz, Magdalena Pietrzak, Karolina Jackowska, Małgorzata Pająk-Woś, as well as newly appointed principals—Krzysztof Talar and Mirosław Kalisz.

The artistic part of the ceremony was prepared by students and graduates of the Primary School in Nowogrodziec under the direction of Renata Dziuba.

Performers included: Sara Kapusta, Milena Urbaniak, Alicja Mierzwa, Zuzanna Kurek, Marlena Orawiec, Kalina Omiatach, Zofia Wołoszyn, Emma Mikuła, Amelia Walenga and Sara Chmielowiec. The audience could also enjoy a performance by graduates of the “Akord” ensemble—Zofia Orawiec, Sabina Stypczyc, Julia Dzioba and Dominik Dzioba.

The evening’s soloists were Marlena Orawiec and Zofia Orawiec, as well as Paulina Nitarska, whose performances moved the audience and gave the ceremony a special character.

At the conclusion, event host Krzysztof Pysz, director of the School Services Centre in Nowogrodziec, thanked everyone for attending and emphasized that the development of education in the Municipality of Nowogrodziec is possible thanks to the joint commitment of students, teachers and parents.
