On 13 October 2025, police officers detained two Georgian citizens in Legnica. – One of them was using a forged Lithuanian passport, and his true identity was confirmed during further proceedings – explains asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

During further operations, officers searched an apartment in Wrocław, where a third member of the group was detained. The spokesperson said: – At the place of residence and on the detainees, police officers secured, among other things, cash, documents and a vehicle that the perpetrators used to travel between cities.

What did the investigators establish?

The findings to date indicate that the group committed numerous thefts in shops across the following provinces: Lower Silesian, Greater Poland, Silesian, Opole, Pomeranian, Łódź and Lubusz, causing losses of no less than PLN 60,000.

Thanks to a thorough analysis of the evidence, surveillance and coordinated actions by officers, the activities of the mobile group, which used various methods to avoid responsibility, were stopped.

Legnica police officers are currently checking the legality of their stay in Poland.

The detainees have already been charged, and the prosecutor has submitted a motion to the court for their temporary detention.

The police headquarters said: – Thanks to the professional and effective work of Legnica police officers, another criminal group has been dismantled, and its members will face trial.
