A reader wrote to our editorial office, irritated by the situation on the roads: “Deliveries of materials on the bridge on Zgorzelecka Street at 1 p.m. are paralyzing the entire city. Is it really so difficult to schedule deliveries outside rush hour? Traffic jams from Hanoi all the way to the bus station.”

We checked the footage from our city camera—and indeed, at that time construction elements related to the ongoing renovation were being unloaded on the bridge. The video shows trucks occupying part of the roadway and obstructing traffic in both directions.

There is no denying that organizing deliveries during the busiest hours intensifies traffic problems in the city center. Perhaps such work should be planned for the early morning or late evening, when road traffic is significantly lighter.

On the other hand, the pace of work on the bridge is important to residents, who have been waiting for months for the project to be completed. If deliveries are necessary at a particular stage of construction, the contractor has limited room to maneuver.

One thing is certain: residents feel the effects of every such blockage, and drivers’ patience is wearing thin.
