It was a busy Saturday for officers from the County Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. That day, officers detained two drivers who should not have got behind the wheel.

The first intervention took place in Kotliska, where police detained a 32-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County who was driving a Nissan. The officers: “It quickly became clear that the man’s driving licence had been revoked and that he was subject to a valid ban on driving motor vehicles.

They also added: “Additionally, a preliminary drug test detected methamphetamine in his system.

That was not the end. Several hours later, the same officers detained a 24-year-old Audi driver in Wleń. The police headquarters: “He, too, had had his driving licence revoked, and a drug test also detected methamphetamine.

The outcome? Both men were taken to medical facilities, where blood was drawn for further testing. They will now face court— they could be sentenced to imprisonment, a substantial fine and a driving ban. The police:

We appeal for common sense! Driving a vehicle after using drugs or alcohol is not only breaking the law, but above all poses a huge threat to the lives and health of other road users.
