This is an exceptional project, giving young patients a chance at an adult life. Due to the shortage of organs for transplantation, the need for external support for this most important organ—the heart—is growing every day. Such chambers can effectively replace a small patient’s own heart for several weeks to several months, enabling further rehabilitation.
To help build the artificial chamber, all you need to do is buy the “Cudowny świat” album, dedicated to the memory of the most distinguished Polish cardiac surgeon, Prof. Zbigniew Religa. The album is based on the message of Louis Armstrong’s song “What a Wonderful World”, which has become a symbol of optimism, faith in the future and positive thinking. The tracks were recorded with the accompaniment of the Symphony Orchestra of the Zabrze Philharmonic and represent a canon of contemporary popular music.
Among the artists featured are: Stanisława Celińska, Krzysztof Kiljański, Małgorzata Kożuchowska, Maciej Maleńczuk, Andrzej Piaseczny, Marek Piekarczyk, Janusz Radek, Stanisław Sojka, Mietek Szcześniak, Małgorzata Walewska, Kasia Wilk and Łukasz Zagrobelny.
All proceeds from album sales will be used to complete the construction of an artificial heart-assistance chamber for children. Each “Cudowny Świat” album purchased is a contribution to helping children with heart conditions. The album can be bought at all Eko, Neonet and Empik stores and from online shops.
The Istotne Informacje portal and newspaper support the campaign. We have three “Cudowny Świat” albums for our readers. We will draw them among people who, using the contact form, name at least three artists who sang on the album and provide the surname and address to which the winning album should be sent.
