District police officers from the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec recovered two vehicles that had been stolen a few days earlier in Germany. – While patrolling their assigned areas, the officers noticed a Jeep. Their experience and vigilance prompted them to take action to verify whether the registration plate data matched the information shown on the inspection sticker placed on the windscreen – explains Senior Constable Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – Their intuition did not let them down – verification confirmed that the car had different registration plates from those assigned to the vehicle.

Further checks, including an analysis of the VIN, confirmed the officers’ suspicions. Spokesperson:

It turned out that the car had been stolen a few days earlier in Germany, in a town located approximately 600 km from Bolesławiec.

The district officers did not stop at that discovery. While checking the nearby area, they decided to take a closer look at a silver van parked nearby. The Polish registration plates raised doubts about their authenticity.

The outcome? It emerged that the Mercedes had also been stolen a few days earlier in Germany, this time in Berlin.

Both vehicles were secured, and the German side was informed that they had been found in Bolesławiec. The value of the recovered property: more than PLN 300,000.

Activities are currently under way to establish the circumstances in which the vehicles ended up in Poland.
