At the request of the District Prosecutor in Zgorzelec, the local court ordered pre-trial detention for an 18-year-old resident of Bogatynia. The teenager was charged with assaulting two men, acting jointly and in agreement with another person. – The perpetrator stabbed one of them in the abdominal area and stabbed the other in the back, near the left shoulder blade – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – The reason for the fight was a debt owed by one of the attackers by the man accompanying the injured parties.
What did investigators establish?
The investigation established that on 10 September 2025, the perpetrators encountered the injured parties and the debtor in a park in Opolno-Zdrój. The spokesperson said: – The attackers assaulted them in an attempt to recover PLN 500.
A fight broke out between the men, during which the suspect, using a dangerous instrument, stabbed one of the injured men in the abdominal area.
Prosecutor:
The injury constituted an illness that posed a real threat to life; consequently, the injured man was immediately taken to hospital and underwent surgery.
The second injured man suffered a cut wound to the back, near the left shoulder blade, which impaired the functioning of bodily organs for less than seven days.
The suspect was arrested the following day. Eleven rimfire cartridges, calibre 65.6 mm, were found at his home.
The young man was brought to the prosecutor’s office, where he was informed of the charges. He confessed and gave explanations. He had no previous criminal record.
The teenager now faces up to twenty years in prison. Efforts are under way to arrest the second attacker.
