The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Goduszyńska Street in Jelenia Góra. Three vehicles were involved in the collision: an agricultural tractor, a bus and a passenger car. Officers said: “Although the incident looked serious, fortunately no one was injured. The offender, who was driving the tractor, was issued a fine.”

Police officers remind everyone that both drivers and pedestrians are obliged to exercise particular caution: – When reversing, vehicle drivers should always make sure that there are no other people or obstacles behind the car. It is important to remember that the driver’s field of vision is limited in this situation, so manoeuvres must not be performed hastily, especially in car parks and places with heavy pedestrian traffic.

Officers:

We also appeal to pedestrians to use common sense and exercise caution. Before walking behind or in front of a vehicle, check whether the driver can see us and whether they are carrying out a manoeuvre. Do not walk directly behind a reversing car, as the driver may fail to notice us.

They add:

Let us work together to ensure road safety – caution, concentration and mutual respect among all road users are the best protection against accidents.
