The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubań is conducting preparatory proceedings against a 47-year-old resident of Lubań County suspected of violating a court-ordered ban on approaching his parents, making criminal threats against them, and insulting the Police officers who intervened.

The incident occurred on September 3, 2025, in one of the localities in Lubań County. – The perpetrator, despite being subject—in a different criminal case—to a court-ordered ban on approaching his parents, came to their home and, for a trivial reason concerning technical matters related to running the household, began threatening to set the residential building on fire – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.

She adds: – The victims, bearing in mind his previous similar behavior, for which he had already been convicted by a final judgment of the District Court in Lubań in 2021, fearing that he would carry out the threats, called Police officers for help.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they attempted to calm the perpetrator down. The 47-year-old threatened to kill them, insulted them using commonly recognized offensive language, and also violated the bodily integrity of one of them—in connection with and while they were performing official duties.

The man was brought to the prosecutor’s office in Lubań, where he was charged. He faces up to five years in prison.

The suspect did not plead guilty. He refused to give explanations.

At the investigators’ request, the court ordered the 47-year-old to be held in pretrial detention for three months. Prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska:

At present, another criminal proceeding is pending against this person before the District Court in Lubań, in which he is charged, among other things, with property damage and an active assault on Police officers who intervened in relation to him.
