On Sunday, 31 August, on the A4 motorway, inspectors from the Wrocław branch of the Lower Silesian Road Transport Inspection stopped an articulated vehicle carrying wooden panels from Romania to Norway. ITD: –The combination vehicle, with a permissible maximum gross weight of over 12 tonnes, was travelling during a traffic ban in force for heavy goods vehicles. The inspection additionally revealed serious technical defects.

During a detailed inspection, damage to the tyres on two trailer axles was found—the treads had deep cuts, and the steel cord was visible in several places. Under the applicable regulations, defects of this type were classified as dangerous and posed a real threat to road safety.
The authority has launched explanatory proceedings against the carrier.
