Dramatic scenes unfolded on Monday evening, at around 5:50 p.m., near Wojska Polskiego Avenue in Bolesławiec. The 17-year-old was returning home with a backpack full of books. He encountered a man he did not know, who was sitting on a bench. (A tall blond man around 20 years old.)

The man—completely without provocation—first spat on the victim. Then he struck him “out of nowhere.”

A scuffle broke out. The attacker tried to pull the backpack from his victim. When the teenager managed to reclaim his property, the aggressor pulled out a knife and threatened him: “I’ll gut you, b**ch.” He then ran the sharp weapon across the teenager’s face.

The 17-year-old then lost consciousness. The perpetrator left, frightened off by witnesses to the incident. He headed toward Zygmunt August.

The entire incident took place literally several dozen meters from a place where children were present. They later said that the aggressor urged the victim not to call the police. He also promised to pay him for his silence.

An emergency medical team and police were called to the scene. The teenager was taken to hospital, where he underwent examinations. Fortunately, no fractures or life-threatening injuries were found. However, the victim’s face is severely swollen and wounded.

A report was filed in the case today. An inspection was also carried out at the police station.

According to witnesses and the victim himself, the aggressor was probably under the influence of drugs.

Neighbors are terrified that such things happen “in broad daylight”—and that so many people in the city are under the influence of drugs. They hope the police will quickly catch the perpetrator.

Police are not providing details of the case for now, but confirm that such an incident took place. We will return to the subject.
