Police officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec—thanks to the intervention of another road user—stopped an intoxicated driver. The Bolesławiec police headquarters reported:

A resident of Bolesławiec County, driving through one of the localities in Nowogrodziec Municipality in the evening, noticed that the driver in front of him was having difficulty maintaining the correct course. Concerned about the situation, he decided to act and check whether alcohol was the cause of the driver’s behavior.

When the vehicle slowed down considerably, the reporting driver blocked its path. And… all it took was for the suspect to open the door. The intervening driver’s suspicions were confirmed. He notified the police.

As it turned out, the 71-year-old had 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. Police officers also established that the driver was subject to a court-imposed driving ban and had a decision revoking his driving licence.

The man was detained. He faces up to five years in prison for the crimes committed.

Police: – We thank the vigilant resident of our county for taking decisive action.
