According to the mayor’s response, municipal secretary Gabriela Błoniarz was not given notice and continues to perform her duties. However, the head of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre resigned from her position, although—as was emphasized—she did not state the reasons for her decision in her letter.

Since the beginning of the current term of office, 22 new people have been employed at the office, while 10 have left their jobs—some due to retirement, others at their own request or by mutual agreement. As a result, the number of full-time positions increased by 12. Two court cases concerning employment relationships are currently ongoing.

The mayor explains that the increase in employment is related to the municipality’s development plans and the need to improve services for residents. The additional positions have made it possible to establish, among other things, a service point for registration and identity cards, a consultation point for the “Clean Air” programme, a team for external funds and an operations department responsible for maintaining green areas and playgrounds.

“In response to the question of what the need to increase the number of positions results from, and whether the increase in employment translates into improved functioning of the office and services for residents, I inform you that expanding the staff is closely connected with the municipality’s development plans,” writes mayor Andrzej Janiec. “By strengthening its staffing, the office gains the ability not only to carry out current tasks more efficiently, but also to better prepare for the implementation of future investments and projects. Increased staffing resources enable more effective planning, acquisition of external funds, as well as the implementation of activities that previously had to be postponed or were carried out on a limited scale, such as matters related to crisis management, civil defence and environmental protection,” the mayor adds.

As emphasized in the response, expanding the staff is part of a long-term strategy for the municipality’s development and for improving the quality of services provided to residents.
