The District Prosecutor's Office in Lubin was notified that sexual intercourse had taken place with a minor under 15 years of age. The person suspected was Jan B., a 63-year-old councillor from Ścinawa.

The man was detained. (The evidence gathered was sufficient to bring charges against B.)

The prosecution alleges that between February and August this year, the man had sexual intercourse several times with a minor under 15 years of age.

The man admitted to committing the crime and gave explanations. He stated that he regretted what he had done.

The investigators are not providing details of the case out of concern for the interests of the proceedings. At the prosecutor's request, the court ordered B. held in pre-trial detention for two months. The suspect now faces up to fifteen years in prison.

The minor's mother reported the crime. The man had not previously been convicted.

What happens next? Witnesses will be questioned, above all the victim herself. It is also possible that an expert opinion will be required.
