The tragic incident occurred before 9:00 a.m. A construction worker fell from the roof of a renovated tenement building in the Market Square. The 23-year-old man died on the way to hospital. The man was from Bolesławiec.
Police are determining the details of the incident. The State Labour Inspectorate and the prosecutor’s office were notified.
According to unofficial information, the young man was using safety equipment, but it failed. We will provide more details on Wednesday.

The investigation is still under way. Preliminary findings indicate that the man was wearing fall-arrest equipment (so-called safety harness), but at the same time he was not attached to a fall-protection element. The final cause of the tragic incident will be known once the investigation has concluded.
