Update: 22 August 2025

Agnieszka Gergont, press spokesperson for the Bolesławiec Municipal Office:

Thank you kindly for reporting your comments concerning the parking situation during the Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival. Taking into account the event’s high popularity and the increased number of visitors, additional free car parks were prepared. The additional car parks were intended to relieve the streets near the centre and make everyday life easier for residents during this period.

And she adds:

With the Ceramics Festival ending on Sunday, the rules set out in the Municipal Council resolution concerning the paid parking zone came back into force on Monday at 08:00. Parking therefore took place under the general rules, and if the fee was not paid, additional charges were imposed in accordance with the provisions of the resolution.

Let us recall. The following post appeared on the The Bad Bunzlauer page:

Car parks throughout the city were blocked by visitors until late yesterday evening, meaning that residents entitled to free parking because they were registered as living here sometimes had to park in a neighbouring area after returning from outside the city, but not necessarily in their own zone. This morning (on Monday morning—editor’s note: istotne.pl), “additional charges” were issued for this reason.

The person who reported it added: “Couldn’t there really have been one day of leniency in this regard after all the confusion surrounding the Ceramics Festival?”

We asked the Bolesławiec municipal authorities about the matter; we will publish their response if we receive it.
