The problem is not only cars parked in unauthorized places, but also vehicles left in such a way that they block other drivers’ exits. In some areas of narrow streets, cars are parked on both sides of the road. Passage is then very difficult, and in some places practically impossible. This is a particularly dangerous situation because, in the event of an emergency, it may hinder or prevent emergency services, including the fire brigade, from getting through.

On Saturday (August 22), late in the evening, a reader sent our editorial office photos of a car parked near Słowackiego Street that blocked access to another parking lot.

Reader:

This is Chaos and mindlessness at hard level. Quite simply, all values are off the scale; I don’t even know how to comment on it.

The driver of the car parked on the aforementioned street had apparently seriously annoyed other road users. Stickers appeared on the vehicle—the so-called “penal c….a,” a vulgar way of calling attention to improper parking that some drivers use against people blocking spaces or passageways.

A handwritten note was also placed behind the car’s windshield. It included the following message: “Learn how to park! F…..g egoist. I couldn’t get out to work! Next time you’ll be calling a tow truck.”

The Ceramic Festival is a time of heavy traffic in central Bolesławiec, so it is worth remembering to park in accordance with the regulations and, above all, not to block passage. A few poorly positioned cars can make a narrow street inaccessible to a fire engine, ambulance or police car. They can also simply make it difficult or impossible for any driver to get through.
