Saturday
At the 156th kilometre of the A4, inspectors stopped two international transports carrying machinery and industrial goods. Road Transport Inspection:
One of them, belonging to a Polish carrier, turned out to be unroadworthy: cracked brake discs on both wheels of the steered axle, worn tyres and faulty lighting posed a real danger on the road.
Sunday
At the same checkpoint, another lorry was stopped—this time belonging to a Slovak carrier. Its driver knowingly broke the ban, counting on the inspectors not carrying out checks at weekends.
The outcome? All the transports were halted, the drivers were fined, and administrative proceedings were initiated against the carriers and the people managing the transport operations.
The Road Transport Inspection reminds drivers that the bans apply throughout Poland every weekend during the entire summer holiday period—and that they will be enforced without exception.
