On 10 July 2025, a dramatic incident involving a man occurred between the apartment blocks at 15 and 16 Jana Pawła II Street. According to relatives, he may have been beaten and robbed. The man, Mr Arkadiusz, was taken to hospital, where he unfortunately died. The police are investigating the case.
The deceased man's family is appealing for help in establishing the course of events. Posts by women asking all witnesses and people with surveillance-camera recordings from the area around the apartment blocks on Jana Pawła II Street to get in touch have appeared on social media. Emergency services were reportedly called twice; however, the first time the man was not given assistance because he was allegedly considered to be under the influence of alcohol.

Information appearing online indicates that witnesses called for help twice. The first time, the man was reportedly left without assistance, and his condition allegedly deteriorated significantly. Only after the second call was he taken to hospital. According to the accounts, he may previously have been pushed and hit his head on a hard surface, which may have had tragic consequences.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has surveillance recordings is asked to contact the police.
What does the prosecutor's office say?
As we have established, the proceedings are ongoing and are being conducted under Article 155 of the Criminal Code, concerning unintentionally causing death. However, preliminary findings indicate that no one contributed to the man's death. The prosecutor's office has a witness who saw the man fall and sustain head injuries.
Investigators are still awaiting the full autopsy results. Emergency responders are also to be questioned.
