The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski referred an indictment to the local District Court against a 43-year-old resident of Wleń accused of insulting paramedics. – The proceedings established that on 13 April 2025, an Emergency Medical Rescue Team was called to Wleń to attend to a man who was on the street and suffering from a coughing fit and shortness of breath – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra.

The paramedics who arrived at the scene, wishing to examine the injured man, asked him to get into the ambulance. – When they pointed out a specific place for the man in the ambulance, he became indignant and got out of the vehicle. He told the paramedics that he no longer needed their help. He then began insulting them with vulgar words commonly regarded as offensive – the spokesperson explains. – He also threatened to take their lives, which caused the victims to have a justified fear that the threats would be carried out.

The accused did not plead guilty to the alleged offense. He gave an explanation. He stated that he did not remember how the incident unfolded.

He had previously been convicted by a court, including for the offense of evading child support payments and driving while intoxicated.

In a penalty order, the District Court in Lwówek Śląski found the accused guilty of the alleged offense and sentenced him to six months’ restriction of liberty, consisting of performing unpaid, supervised community service for 30 hours per month.

Prosecutor E. Węglarowicz-Makowska:

The District Prosecutor in Lwówek Śląski disagreed with this ruling, considering the sentence imposed on the accused to be flagrantly lenient. Therefore, on 1 July 2025, he filed an objection to the ruling, demanding a significantly harsher sentence for the accused.

The proceedings against the 43-year-old will now be conducted before the District Court in Lwówek Śląski under the ordinary procedure.
