To make the journey smoother, please remember to carry a valid identity document, plan your trip in advance while allowing for a possible longer journey time and monitoring traffic levels, and follow the instructions of Border Guard officers and other services.
People indicated by the Border Guard (so-called selective checks) will be checked. This means that not everyone wishing to cross the border will be checked, but only selected individuals.
The police officers’ main tasks are, above all, to ensure the safety of both residents and people travelling through our region, improve traffic flow and counter cross-border threats.
Checks at the border crossings in Zgorzelec, Jędrzychowice and Sieniawka will be conducted continuously.
Nadodrzański Border Guard Unit prepares for checks
The first container, which will serve as a checkpoint, has already been installed on the A4 motorway in the area of the Polish-German border. It will be used by officers of the Border Guard Post in Zgorzelec.
This is part of preparations to restore temporary border checks. Drivers are asked to exercise caution in the area of the checkpoint and follow our announcements — changes to traffic organisation are possible.
The planned activities may cause temporary traffic difficulties, especially around border crossings and on access roads. Therefore, to make crossing the border smoother, please remember to:
- carry a valid identity document;
- plan your trip in advance, allowing for a possible longer journey time and monitoring traffic levels;
- follow the instructions of Border Guard officers and other services.
Cooperation and mutual respect will help ensure that the checks are conducted smoothly.
