Tragic accident on the tracks. Woman killed under the wheels of an Intercity train

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday, 8 June, before 5 p.m. in the area of the railway station in Miękinia (Środa Śląska County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship).

– According to the initial information from the police officers working at the scene, a tragic accident occurred. A woman attempted to cross the tracks. She was hit by an Intercity train – st. asp. Łukasz Porębski from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław told Gazeta Wrocławska. – The incident occurred in the area of the station in Miękinia – he added.

Activities are still ongoing at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor. Train traffic in both directions has been suspended.
