The election of Karol Nawrocki as president of the Republic of Poland is difficult for many citizens because of his worldview. Sexual minorities, women who want to make choices about their own lives, and people with left-wing views are looking for a way to accept this decision by their fellow citizens, resist it, or somehow neutralize it.
Seeking community and alliances for people who will be openly excluded from life in Poland may be a remedy for the new president’s lack of openness. It may also help when, as excluded people or people openly attacked by the head of state and his supporters, we feel lonely and frightened.

Let’s show that we care about people
Without effort, ordinarily, simply. Without grand declarations, politics, carrying banners, or a rainbow flag. Of course, you can bring all of that into your allyship: slogans, a rainbow flag, and your activism. But you can also say: I’m a cookie ally; with me, you can feel like yourself and explain nothing.
How do you become a cookie ally step by step? It’s simple!
Tell yourself: I want to be a cookie ally. Post the video below and a link to sojuszcistek.ovh on your social media, or send it to friends (you choose which ones) with the message: look how funny/amusing/interesting/cool this is, or simply: what do you think about it? (without saying what it is like).
What can you be an ally in?
- Listen to a speech to parents to support an LGBTQ+ person coming out.
- Spend time with an LGBTQ+ person or another ally when they are having a difficult time.
- Go together to a Pride march.
- Create an allyship project together.
- Mark a company as LGBTQ+-friendly.
- Bake a chocolate cookie and share it.
