A standing ovation and encores that no one bothered counting anymore – this is how the Bolesławiec audience received the performance by the entertaining string quartet. Filip Jaślar, Michał Sikorski, Paweł Kowaluk and Bolek Błaszczyk combined The Beatles’ music with works by the Romantic composer Joseph Haydn, as well as ABBA songs and Baroque pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach in virtuoso fashion at the concert.

The gentlemen encouraged people to visit the philharmonic and enchanted the audience with music, playing with it masterfully. There were variations for violin and ping-pong (to charm women), as well as for viola and an inflated balloon.

The most interesting musical combination was a performance of Michael Jackson’s song “Thriller” with lyrics praising Amadeus Wolfgang Mozart, the king of melody and genius of harmony. The concert concluded with a rousing performance of a Beethoven piece in a heavy-metal arrangement, complete with the destruction of the music stand.

The musicians played several encores. And, to say goodbye to the audience in Bolesławiec, they had to resort to poetry. They presented four stanzas of “A Poem for Clearing Out” by Artur Andrus. “The moon quietly wades across the Bolesławiec sky; go home now, don’t you have families!” they said poetically as they bid farewell to the viewers, who applauded them standing.

The musicians from group MoCarta bow low and respectfully to music. They do not divide it into high and low, classical and popular. They show that music is all around us and was discovered to bring joy. And that is precisely the joy they brought to their viewers in Bolesławiec.
