The director of the hospital in Bolesławiec resigned after the county council decided to halt the process of transforming the hospital into a company.

"One of the main reasons for this decision is the suspension of the transformation. My departure will not disrupt the hospital’s work; it should function normally," Dariusz Kłos told Boleslawiec.org.

As reported by Radio Wrocław, it is not yet known who will succeed Kłos. The hospital in Bolesławiec, which is approximately 30 million złoty in debt, was to be taken over by a local-government company starting April 1. However, the county head submitted a motion to suspend the transformation pending central debt relief for ZOZs. The municipalities in the county, which were also supposed to join the company, even demanded that the hospital first be relieved of as much debt as possible, despite the fact that the company was already supposed to be debt-free, since all the debt would be transferred to the county.

Dariusz Kłos had opposed the decision to suspend the transformation from the outset. In his view, the debt, which is growing by several hundred thousand złoty each month, could increase by more than the planned debt reductions. They are expected to amount to a maximum of approximately 6 million złoty.
