On 27 May, road transport inspectors from Wrocław stopped a tractor-trailer belonging to a domestic carrier at the 156th kilometre of the A4 motorway. The vehicle was carrying dozens of tonnes of beer.
Inspectorate: “The inspection revealed serious threats to road safety. The most concerning issues were: a leaking fuel tank, tires with protruding wires, and tires with different tread patterns on one axle of the trailer. In addition, inspectors found faulty lighting, incorrect vehicle markings, and missing bodywork components, which created dangerous, sharp edges.
The inspectors immediately prohibited further driving until the defects were repaired and confiscated the registration certificates of the vehicle and trailer. The driver was issued a ticket, while administrative proceedings were initiated against the carrier, which could result in a substantial financial penalty.
The office concludes: “Transport in such a technical condition poses a serious threat not only to the driver, but also to other road users.
