Residents’ reports of children being approached near a church in the Kwiatowe Estate in Bolesławiec turned out to be merely rumors. The police investigated the matter. The only person harmed was an innocent man. Someone identified his car as suspicious, and the man suffered unpleasant consequences as a result.

In connection with information circulated on social media, Bolesławiec police officers took action to establish the facts.
At this point, our findings indicate that none of the situations involving children, as described online, actually took place. The incident that was reportedly supposed to have occurred near the church was the result of a misunderstanding. The boy, whose grandfather was supposed to arrive in a dark-colored car, mistook the vehicles and became frightened when he saw that someone else was inside.
It was also established that a report from the Nowogrodziec municipality concerned a joke. A woman who got out of a dark-colored car told the children that she would kidnap them, adding a moment later that she was joking.
Bearing in mind the concerns of parents regarding information published in recent days on various social media accounts, we ask that you treat the matter seriously and refrain from making jokes.
