On May 22, 2025, the District Firefighter’s Day celebrations were held in the courtyard of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec. They were attended by State Fire Service officers, volunteer firefighters from across Bolesławiec County and invited guests.

District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec:
The ceremony began at 1:00 p.m. It was opened by Senior Brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski, District Commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, who, together with Volunteer Firefighter Stanisław Żółtański, President of the District Branch of the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland in Bolesławiec, welcomed the guests on behalf of the command’s officers and employees, including:
- Chief Brigadier Marek Hajduk – Lower Silesian Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service;
- retired Chief Brigadier, Volunteer Firefighter Ryszard Dąbrowa – member of the Main Board of the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland;
- Bolesławiec County Governor Tomasz Gabrysiak, together with representatives of local government authorities, commanders of Polish Armed Forces units, the Police, services and inspectorates;
- District and municipal commanders of the State Fire Service from Lower Silesian and Lubusz voivodeships;
- former commanders of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec – retired Senior Brigadier Grzegorz Kocon and retired Brigadier Czesław Deresz;
- Rev. Bogusław Wolański – parish priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas Parish in Bolesławiec;
- volunteer firefighters from Bolesławiec County;
- and representatives of institutions cooperating with the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec.
During the celebrations, state, ministerial and association decorations, as well as acts granting higher service ranks, were presented.
Those honored included:
- Bronze Badge of Merit for Fire Protection – 3 people,
- St. Florian’s Badge – 1 person,
- Bolesław Chomicz Honorary Medal – 1 person,
- Gold Medal for Merit in Firefighting – 3 people,
- Silver Medal – 6 people,
- Bronze Medal – 6 people.
Certificates from the Chief Commander of the State Fire Service, issued on the 30th anniversary of the National Rescue and Firefighting System, were received by representatives of JRG Bolesławiec, the Military Fire Service in Świętoszów and 11 volunteer fire brigades from Bolesławiec County.
The following were promoted:
- 2 officers,
- 1 warrant officer,
- 8 non-commissioned officers
- 1 firefighter in the enlisted corps.
The command: – After the official part, the invited guests spoke, emphasizing in their addresses the professionalism, dedication and readiness of the firefighters to help the residents of the county.
And concluded: – On behalf of the District Commander of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, the officers and civilian employees of the command – we thank everyone for attending and celebrating Firefighter’s Day together.
