Over the past week, prices at filling stations in Bolesławiec fell below PLN 6 per litre. This is the result of PKN Orlen lowering wholesale fuel prices. According to data from the company’s website, 95-octane petrol costs PLN 4.50 per litre at wholesale, while a litre of diesel costs PLN 4.52 wholesale (prices as of 17 May).
Fuel price reductions have also reached Bolesławiec, and we have finally seen prices below PLN 6 per litre, but considering prices at stations in neighbouring counties and average fuel prices in Poland, there is not much reason to celebrate. Excluding some stations near motorways, fuel in Bolesławiec is still even several dozen groszy more expensive than in neighbouring towns.
An interesting article about falling fuel prices at stations across the country was published by Business Insider. The article’s author gives examples of voivodeships with the lowest and highest fuel prices:
On Poland’s “fuel” map, the lowest petrol and diesel prices were recorded in the Silesian Voivodeship; at stations there, a litre of fuel costs an average of PLN 5.62 and PLN 5.69, respectively. A litre of LPG, priced at PLN 2.81, is cheapest in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
“In Mazovia, meanwhile, people pay the most for a litre of Pb95 and diesel: PLN 5.98 and PLN 5.95. In the Lubusz Voivodeship, autogas is the most expensive—in this part of the country, a litre costs an average of PLN 3.06,” the analysts reported.
Considering prices in Bolesławiec, unfortunately, we find ourselves in the same position as Mazovia...
