Grupa MoCarta is a brand in its own right. The musicians prove that classical music is not limited to rigid forms. – We stand in opposition to the dignified solemnity of concert halls, the tedious everyday life of musicians, die-hard music lovers, and fans of rock, rap or pop who are afraid of classical music as if it were fire. We treat our Mother Music with playful irony and are certain that she will not take offence – Artur Renion, a tragically deceased member of Grupa MoCarta, used to say.

The string quartet currently consists of graduates of the academies of music in Warsaw and Łódź – Filip Jaślar, Michał Sikorski, Paweł Kowaluk and Bolek Błaszczyk. Grupa MoCarta’s sketches mainly involve playing with all kinds of music. The quartet has won numerous awards for its cabaret performances: the Grand Prix of the 18th Biesiady Satyry i Humoru “Złota szpilka” in 1997, second prizes at the PaKa Cabaret Reviews in 1998 and 2000, the “Bronze Penguin” – an award from the Zielona Góra cabaret community – and the Grand Prix of the Good Humor Festival in the Tricity in 2002.

Grupa MoCarta is not only a musical cabaret. The group also performs classical repertoire and works with popular music (it has collaborated with artists including Maryla Rodowicz, Natalia Kukulska, Grupa pod Budą, Marian Opania, Włodzimierz Korcz, Artur Andrus, Czerwony Tulipan, Kayah, Piasek and mime artist Ireneusz Krosny). In October 1998, the group took part in the prestigious “Gaudeamus” festival in Wrocław, receiving highly favorable reviews in the magazine “Ruch Muzyczny”. Since then, Grupa MoCarta has often been invited to philharmonic halls throughout Poland and has also traveled abroad for concerts (Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine, China and Japan).

The concert will take place on Friday, March 25, at 6:00 p.m. Book tickets online: www.kino.boleslawiec.pl.
