After the May holidays, controversy once again emerged in Bolesławiec over the stage set up in parking spaces in the city centre. Questions are being raised about whether the stage dismantling could be planned better so as not to disrupt the everyday lives of Bolesławiec residents.
– I understand that there are events, but why does this stage still stand for several days after everything is over? This is the city centre, after all, and there are already so few parking spaces – says Ms Anna, a resident of Sierpnia ’80 Street.
– All it takes is one phone call to the company for them to take it down the day after the event. But instead? We stand around looking for a space as if we had a festival every week – adds Mr Marek, who uses the car park in the city centre.
This is not the first time that the stage has remained after an event, taking up valuable parking spaces. People are asking: why can’t it be dismantled immediately after the event? Especially since every day of delay makes things more difficult for drivers and residents of the city centre.
It would be worthwhile for organisers of cultural events in Bolesławiec to take residents’ needs into account and try to minimise the inconveniences associated with organising events, including by quickly dismantling the infrastructure once they have ended.
