With deep sorrow and emotion, we received the news of the tragic events that took place on 29 April 2025 at the University Hospital in Kraków. While performing his professional duties, a doctor—a member of our medical community—was brutally murdered.
As Saint Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec, we stand in solidarity with the family, loved ones and colleagues of the deceased. This is an unimaginable tragedy that has affected the entire medical community.
They added:
As a gesture of tribute and remembrance, our hospital honoured the murdered doctor with a minute of silence.

The knife attack took place at the University Hospital on Jakubowskiego Street in Kraków, in an orthopaedic clinic. According to information from onet.pl, at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a 35-year-old man entered one of the clinics located on the ground floor of the hospital. The service reported: – He then went to the office where one of the doctors was seeing a patient. There, he stabbed the doctor several times in the abdomen with a sharp instrument.
The attacked doctor died. The assailant was arrested.
