Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Lubań, together with officials from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław, based in Zgorzelec and Jelenia Góra, searched the utility rooms of a residential building located in Lwówek County. – The information we had indicated that the property owner was storing alcohol without Polish excise duty stamps – reports Assistant Commissioner Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń, press officer for the Lubań District Police Headquarters.
The alcohol was stored in bottles, canisters and decorative wooden casks. In total, more than 90 litres of liquid smelling of alcohol and bearing no excise stamps were secured in the rooms occupied by the 69-year-old.
The spokesperson: – The product discovered on the property was secured, and the man, who was detained that same day, was charged with storing alcohol without Polish excise duty stamps. Preliminary analysis indicates that the excise duty loss to the detriment of the State Treasury amounted to more than PLN 3,000.
And she concludes: – The court will decide what penalty the suspect will receive.
