Bolesławiec police officers from the Department for Combating Economic Crime, conducting operations with officers of the National Revenue Administration in Wrocław, inspected a vehicle in which tobacco products without Polish excise-duty markings were found. The police report:

In 4 travel bags located in the boot, officers secured 11 ziplock bags containing a total of 5.5 kg of cut tobacco, as well as 310 packs containing 20 cigarettes each.

Officers established that the illegal goods belonged to a couple from Bolesławiec. The couple now faces a fine. The police summarise: – The perpetrators’ actions deprived the state treasury of excise duty amounting to nearly PLN 13,500 and VAT amounting to more than PLN 3,000.
