On April 12, 2025, an exceptional event took place – “Traditional Easter Tables,” organized by Bolesławiec County, the County Council of Rural Housewives’ Circles in Bolesławiec, and the Municipal Culture and Sport Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn. The event was attended by 33 rural housewives’ circles from Bolesławiec County, which came to present their culinary skills and the richness of local traditions.
The contestants’ tables featured both classic dishes, such as white borscht and sour rye soup, and a variety of baked goods.
Each of the 33 rural housewives’ circles presented not only delicacies but also beautiful table decorations reflecting the festive atmosphere. The participants demonstrated great creativity, preparing tables decorated with flowers, Easter eggs and other elements typical of Easter traditions. Naturally, there was no shortage of original Easter palms. As a result, the event became not only a culinary competition but also a genuine exhibition of local art and craftsmanship.
Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak, host of the “Traditional Easter Tables” event, emphasized the importance of such initiatives for developing local culture and promoting regional products.
During the event, prizes were awarded for the most beautiful Easter palm and the best dishes, which whetted the appetites of not only the judges but also the many guests in attendance. Bolesławiec County was represented by Deputy County Head Patryk Hałka, County Secretary Sylwia Chruszcz, Chair of the Bolesławiec County Council Maciej Małkowski and County Board Member Alina Zarembecka.
In the competition for the most beautiful Easter palm, the main prizes went to the rural housewives’ circles from Łaziska, Zebrzydowa, Zagajnik and Osła. Distinctions were awarded to the circles from Modła-Patoka, Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka, Wartowice, Łaziska, Stare Jaroszowice, Szczytnica, Czerna, Nowa, Nowe Jaroszowice, Raciborowice Dolne, Bolesławice, Jurków, Kraśnik Górny, Borówki, Gromadka, Bożejowice-Rakowice, Otok, Żeliszów, Iwiny, Suszki and Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.
In the culinary competition, first place went to KGW Łąka, second place to KGW Zebrzydowa, while third place ex aequo went to the circles from Suszki, Kraśnik Górny and Osła.
Distinctions were awarded to the following circles: Bolesławice, Borówki, Bożejowice-Rakowice, Brzeźnik, Czerna, Gromadka, Iwiny, Jurków, Kraśnik Dolny, Krępnica, Kruszyn, Ławszowa, Łaziska, Modła-Patoka, Nowa, Nowe Jaroszowice, Osiecznica, Otok, Raciborowice Dolne, Stare Jaroszowice, Szczytnica, Tomaszów Bolesławiecki, Trzebień, Zagajnik, Żeliszów, Warta Bolesławiecka and Wartowice.
Special prizes went to KGW Iwiny for the tastiest sour rye soup, KGW Modła-Patoka for excellent eggs, and KGW Żeliszów for the best meatballs.
The event received the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Paweł Gancarz.
