On Monday morning, police officers began searching a room near Lubin. – As a result of previously conducted operational activities, criminal investigators suspected what and whom they would find inside the selected premises – explains Assistant Inspector Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice. – Inside, officers found and secured nearly 10 kilograms of drugs and two men responsible for their distribution.
A 26-year-old resident of the Chocianów municipality and a 25-year-old resident of Lubin were detained.
And he adds: – The longer the search lasted, the more evidence of the criminal operation the police secured. Officers from the criminal division found 9 kilograms and 330 grams of drugs, which preliminary testing showed to be marijuana, as well as several dozen commercial portions of methamphetamine and ecstasy. At the same time, police officers found a lead to one of the customers of the aforementioned pair. A 31-year-old resident of Lubin was detained that same day; he had nearly 7.5 grams of hashish and retail portions of marijuana.
At the scene, police officers discovered a film sealing machine, an odour absorber, stretch and bubble wrap, as well as a label printer and labels themselves. – It was established that the suspects collected marijuana from parcel lockers and then stored it in a rented house, after which they repackaged it and sent it on to other recipients who placed orders online. The shipments were also sent via parcel lockers – explains Liliana Łukasiewicz of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica.
The evidence gathered by investigators made it possible to charge the detained 25-year-old and 26-year-old with putting a significant quantity of drugs into circulation for financial gain. The 31-year-old was also charged; for drug possession, he faces up to 3 years in prison.
The oldest suspect was placed under police supervision and will stand trial while at liberty. The other two were remanded in custody by the court for three months. Those arrested face up to 12 years behind bars.
It is possible that residents of our county used the “services” of both men.
