The incident occurred on April 7, at around 4:00 p.m., in the allotment gardens near Słowackiego Street in Nowogrodziec. Firefighters:
Upon arrival at the scene, a fire involving wood near a garden shed was confirmed; the flames had reached the building’s roof. One hose line was immediately deployed, extinguishing the fire. The firefighters also dismantled the scorched elements of the shed to eliminate any remaining sources of fire.
They added: – Thanks to the allotment gardeners noticing the fire quickly, it was possible to save the roof and the building’s equipment, and the losses are minimal.
They concluded: – We thank the reporting person for going out to the main road and directing us; this always makes our arrival easier and faster. We encourage allotment gardeners to clear the access roads of overgrown branches from trees growing within the clearance area of these roads.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Police are establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident.
Firefighters from Nowogrodziec, Bolesławiec and Gierałtów took part in the operation.
