Inspectors from the Lower Silesian Road Transport Inspection conducted further checks on the A4 motorway on 7 April 2025 . They used a Mobile Diagnostic Line (MLD) to carry out a detailed assessment of the vehicles’ technical condition. What was the result? ITD: – The inspections carried out at kilometre 156 of the A4 resulted in two vehicles posing a serious threat to safety being removed from traffic.
The inspectors explain: – During the operation, a number of technical defects were identified, including two particularly dangerous ones. The emergency brake in a delivery vehicle belonging to a Romanian carrier was found to be completely inoperative. In a truck belonging to a Polish carrier, inspectors found serious damage to the brake disc on the trailer’s last axle. Both vehicles were immediately removed from traffic, and their registration certificates were detained.
Thanks to the use of the modern Mobile Diagnostic Line, it was possible to quickly and precisely detect defects that could have led to road incidents with tragic consequences. The drivers were fined, while administrative proceedings were initiated against the carriers and the persons responsible for managing the transport operations; these proceedings may result in substantial financial penalties.
The Wrocław inspectorate concludes:
The Inspection’s actions confirm the vital role that checking vehicles’ technical condition plays in ensuring road safety. The ITD announces the continuation of intensive inspections using the Mobile Diagnostic Line.
