The exhibition is another result of international cooperation, this time with the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza and the Italian Cultural Institute in Kraków. The special guests will be Dr Claudia Casali, director of the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza, and Matteo Ogliari, director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Kraków.
The exhibition’s central theme will be an artistic dialogue between top-class Italian works by renowned artists, including Lucio Fontana, Leoncilla and Galileo Chini, and masterful examples of ceramics made in Bolesławiec. From designs by outstanding artists Karl Gross and Arthur Lewin Funcke created for pre-war ceramic factories to sculptures by acclaimed Bolesławiec artists – Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter, Janina Bany-Kozłowska and Bronisław Wolanin.

The exhibits, created from the late 19th century through the 21st century, encourage comparisons and the search for differences and shared features between these two intriguing ceramic collections. Is there much separating them? Or perhaps does ceramics “speak” a universal, universally understood language of art? The exhibition organizers invite visitors to see the exhibition and undertake their own explorations and observations.
The exhibition opening will include a curator-led tour conducted by Dr Claudia Casali (director of the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza) and Dr Anna Bober-Tubaj (director of the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec). This is a wonderful and rare opportunity for enthusiasts and experts in ceramics and European art. Admission to the opening is free.
The exhibition will be available in the temporary exhibition gallery of the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec at 28/29 Zgorzelecka Street from 12 April to 15 June 2025, during the museum’s opening hours.
The exhibition is organized as part of Italian Design Day and Made in Italy Day and forms part of the cooperation between Faenza and Bolesławiec במסגרת the European Route of Ceramics.
