On Thursday, March 10, the Bolesławiec police conducted the “Seat Belts” operation. Officers paid particular attention to whether drivers and passengers had their seat belts fastened. The results are not encouraging. The officers inspected 50 cars. As many as 46 people were travelling without their seat belts fastened.
Police remind drivers: seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while travelling. Half of those killed in road accidents could be alive if they had been wearing seat belts at the moment of the collision. Moreover, failing to fasten seat belts is an offence punishable by a PLN 100 fine and 2 penalty points.
