Officers from the Independent Prevention Subunit in Legnica, while on duty in Bolesławiec, stopped a vehicle for inspection in the morning. Four men were travelling in it. – They are all residents of Lubusz Voivodeship who came together to Bolesławiec County for night-time turkey catching – explains junior inspector Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
During the proceedings, the police officers were struck by the behaviour of two passengers. The spokesperson said: – Their reaction to the question about possessing prohibited items convinced the officers that further action was necessary.
In the 34-year-old's backpack, the officers found amphetamine from which more than 300 doses of the drug could have been prepared. The 29-year-old also had the same illegal substance on him, amounting to several doses.
Both men were arrested. The older man, as it turned out, will also face charges for dealing in narcotic substances.
Possession of drugs is punishable by up to three years in prison, while drug dealing can result in a prison sentence of up to ten years.
