The incident took place on Monday, March 7, on Sobieskiego Street in Bolesławiec. At around 6:30 p.m., someone probably set fire to the shelter under which a car was parked. The wooden shelter and the car, worth PLN 110,000, burned down completely. As a result of the fuel tanks exploding in the vehicle, the fire spread to part of the house. Fortunately, none of the building’s residents was hurt.
The losses were estimated at PLN 130,000. Twenty square metres of facade were damaged, and six windows also need to be replaced.
Two fire service units took part in the firefighting operation. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
